Based on a sculpture made by one of my oldest friends. She carved and chiseled fallen tree trunks to reveal hidden spirits. I used pumice and acrylic gels (matte and gloss) for the rough and smooth surfaces. I tried to show the chisel marks with color and line, emphasizing the resultant planes. The grays of the background contrast with the warm palette of the figures.
